Top 10 Blog Posts of 2019
It's a new year and a new decade. Can you believe that we are already in the year 2020? Well before starting out this year with our regular content I want to take a moment to reflect on a few things from 2019. In this post I want to share with you my top blog posts of 2019.
TOP BLOG POSTS
At the end of every year I like to sit down and look back at my statistics for my blog. It lets me know which articles you, my audience likes to read and find more beneficial. I also like to see which new articles have made their way up to the top and which ones remained ranking in the top. You can check out our blog post, Top 10 Blog Posts of 2018 to see what was ranking in the top the year before.
Ranking in first place is my article called The Top 5 Kid Friendly Hikes in Oahu, Hawaii. When we lived in Oahu Hawaii back in 2014-2016 we had the opportunity to explore many parts of the island. My daughters were very little back then. My youngest was still an infant so the hikes that we chose were always easy so I can make sure I can handle it by myself with both of them. I always hiked with other moms to play it safe too.
Here is a list of the five hikes included in this article linked with their individual hiking guides.
- Manoa Falls
- Diamond Head Crater Trail
- Makapu'u Lighthouse Trail
- Ehukai Pillbox Trail
- Waimea Valley Falls
If you are looking for more short and easy hikes to do in Oahu, Hawaii but more for adults then check out my guest blog post over at She Dreams of Alpines, 7 Beautiful Easy Hikes in Oahu, Hawaii.
A little over a year ago I came across an amazing product called Kula Cloth that is geared for women to help eliminate our waste out in the outdoors, or anywhere really. Shortly after that I got close to Anastasia Allison, the founder and creator of Kula Cloth who is a sweet person all around. When she opened her ambassador program and affiliate program I decided to apply. Shortly after I was approved and ever since been a part of the Kula family.
I went ahead and shared my thoughts on the Kula Cloth here and how to properly use it. To explain briefly, a Kula Cloth is a pee cloth that you can use outdoors. It is made of silver-infused antibacterial fabric that has an absorbent and a waterproof side. It's design helps eliminate the toilet paper waste in the outdoors. Best of all, they support various artists when creating their designs and also help different causes around the world. You can learn more about how they give back on this post.
You can checkout their products here.
I seriously love this state park in Florida. Homosassa Springs State Park is not just like any other state park across the country. It serves as a rehabilitation center for Florida's wildlife. We actually revisited Homosassa Springs last year and had such a blast. Definitely a place we will continue to visit over the years. Our daughters love it just as much.

This has been a top ranking post since I published it. It was something that my audience always asked me about. How to stay clean on the trail or on camping trips. I got together with two amazing ladies to share tips, tricks, and all of my favorite gear. You can read the Ultimate Guide To Eco-friendly Female Hygiene Outdoors here.
After writing this article I got more questions about hygiene outdoors but specifically about managing your periods. I went ahead and published a more detailed post on Dealing With Your Period Outdoors here.
My camp kitchen blog post was a fun one to do. I always get asked about the gear I use and what products I recommend. I love cooking so I figured I'd make a guide for our camp kitchen where I featured the gear, utensils, tips, and hacks that I use in my own camp kitchen. It definitely makes me happy to see this one make it to the top ranking blog posts as well. In it you can find things like the water filter that I use, my favorite camp stove system for families, organization tips and so much more.
You can read my full post on Camp Kitchen Essentials and Organization here.
Some other camp kitchen related articles include:

My family absolutely loved coming to The Dole Plantation in Wahiawa, Hawaii. Our favorite thing to do was eat the delicious pineapple ice cream with pineapple chunks in it and do the maze.
You can read all about our experience at The Dole Plantation here.
This was such a fun trip with my mom back in Autumn of 2018. It was just us both with nature and many trails and snacks. We visited Garden of the Gods, Devil's Backbone, the Natural Bridge, and camped at Bell Smith Springs. This is the first time that I truly took full advantage of my new camera that I had gotten for my birthday two months before our trip. I went over our entire trip on our guide called Exploring Shawnee National Forest, Illinois.
This was a fun blog post that I created. Besides sharing family travel tips and activities for kids, I also like to share blogging tips. My family did a small family reunion last May at Fall Creek Falls State Park in Tennessee. It was the first time that we had gone to Fall Creek Falls but I had heard only good things about it. I was absolutely blown away. The beauty of the park was too much for words. We spent 4 days and 3 nights at the park and I woke up at 0500 every morning to catch the beauty of the park.
