An All Natural Morning Routine
Waking up in the mornings is such a drag for me. I am one of those that hits that snooze button about 10 times before dragging myself out of bed. First thing I do is make sure that the coffee is already made. Thank God for those auto start coffee makers, right?! Best thing ever invented. Though coffee does help me wake up, nothing helps me feel refreshed in the mornings as a good face wash, brushing my teeth, and feeling clean. It helps me feel like I am ready to take on the day.
I have recently been trying new products to see which ones I like best. You have probably already seen a glimpse of them on my Instagram but here are all the details you have been waiting for.
My New Morning Routine
STEP ONE: WASH YOUR FACE
I first start with washing my face with my new Oatmeal & Honey soap from Bendsoap Co. This soap is amazing. It helps with my eczema, dry skin, and best of all, it is all natural and organic. Bendsoap Co. also has several different products that are good for all skin types. I rub the soap in my hands till they are all bubbly and then rub my hands all around my face making sure to focus more on those greasy spots that we all have.
STEP TWO: ORAL CARE
I then continue by brushing my teeth and flossing. I use an all natural bamboo toothbrush. You can purchase this one or pick yours up at Tree Of Life in Clarksville, Tennessee (** UPDATE: Tree Of Life has closed**) I use organic coconut oil and baking soda mix to brush my teeth. Coconut oil helps whiten your teeth and fight cavities and baking soda helps break down any tartar building up and fights that morning breath. For flossing with an eco-friendly product, I recommend using Coco Floss. You can get yours here. It is made out of coconut fibers and helps clean between your teeth better than those nylon floss you find in the stores.
STEP THREE: HYDRATE
After scrubbing your skin clean it is always good to hydrate. I use two items that I have grown to love.
First I use the Everclen lotion. It is all natural, organic, vegan, and cruelty free. Best of all, it doesn't leave your skin feeling greasy like some lotions. This lotion leaves a silky feel to your skin that lasts all day. If you have sensitive skin like me, then this item should definitely be on your shelf. It doesn't irritate my skin or leave it feeling like its burning. My skin hasn't turned red or patchy since I started using it. It is also fragrance free so for someone like me that has allergies to just about any fragrance out there, then this is a huge plus in my books. I couldn't be any happier with this lotion. If you live in the Clarksville area, you can grab their Everclen face wash and lotion at Tree Of Life.
Next I use the Bendsoap Co. lip butter. I am currently obsessed with their Mango flavored one. It lasts a long time and all of the ingredients are organic and natural.
STEP FOUR: TAKE ON YOUR DAY REFRESHED!!!
Now it's time to eat a delicious breakfast with a warm cup of coffee before taking on your day.
Checkout this delicious Tofu Scramble for a delicious breakfast recipe. This is one of my favorite childhood breakfast recipes.
