5 Reasons Why You Should Own A GoPro

GoPro's are like the new trend but have you ever wondered why everyone loves GoPro cameras? I got my own GoPro about 2 years ago. I love to take pictures and go out and have fun so when my husband and I decided to get the GoPro we knew it was the best investment ever. Here's 5 reasons as to why we love our GoPro and you should get your very own.

My First GoPro

Once my husband and I purchased our GoPro we decided to take it for a test ride... Obviously! How can we not. It was a little confusing at first as to how this little small camera even worked. It was pretty mind blowing to be honest how this small little camera can take pictures and videos and also be so EVERYTHING proof, especially kid proof. My husband and I were in Hawaii when we purchased it and went to try it out on one of the hikes. We decided to go to the Lanikai Pillboxes to capture the moment. After seeing the results of all of our pictures we fell in love. Here's the reasons why you need to get your own (and why I am so obsessed with this magical little camera).

1. Picture Quality

So I loved all of my pictures taken that day. The quality was amazing and I loved the birds-eye view that comes from owning a GoPro. At first I was a little disappointed that the colors weren't so vibrant but with a little editing the pictures came out looking absolutely stunning so don't let this fool you. Now with the new one that came out the quality has greatly improved. (Note: this post is according to my GoProHero3 not the GoPro5 that just came out so a lot of improvements have been made. If I love my 3 I'm sure the 5 is to die for.) The picture to the right (or below if you're on a mobile phone) is one of the edited pictures I took with my Hero3 in Kaena Point, Oahu, Hawaii. One of my all time favorites.

2. Size

If you haven't noticed, the GoPro camera is small. It fits in the palm of my hand so it's very easy to carry it anywhere with you. I always just stick it in my bag and go and don't have to worry about making room for it cause any little pocket or small crevice will work just fine. It being so small and easy to carry makes it easier and lightweight to do things with. Usually when I go on hikes I carry my youngest daughter on my Ergo so carrying my GoPro versus carrying a big heavy camera sure makes my hiking trips much easier.

3. Everything Proof

The camera itself outside of the case is not anything proof but as long as you leave it in the case that it came in than it's just about everything proof, even kid proof. The original casing (housing) is waterproof up to 131 feet. I'm sure you won't be free diving that deep but if you decide to Scuba Dive then definitely get the Dive House here (set includes a whole dive house kit fully loaded for scuba diving adventures). Other then that is pretty much everything proof (unless you throw it off the top of a skyscraper then you may be pushing your limits). I have dropped my GoPro countless times and it still works perfectly. The housing may have a few scratches around the edges but it's not even noticeable, plus you can get a new housing at any time (click here).

4. Accessories For Everything (Even For Your Dog)

The good thing about the GoPro company is that they focus on just their cameras and how to make it easy for you to use and take everywhere with you. There's all sorts of stuff now so that you can use to record and capture every moment of your adventure. They even have stuff for your dog. How awesome is that. Some of the stuff that they have is a chest harness, backpack mount, head mount, gun/fishing rod mount, mouth mount (perfect for snorkeling or free diving), and even a dog harness mount. *links provided* The ones pictured above are the GoPro Stick, Float Strap, and the Tripod. I really want the dog harness for my boxer. She tends to do circles in the yard like a crazy dog so I think it would be very awesome to view her craziness from her point of view.

5. The GoPro App

The GoPro app is awesome. The GoPro Hero 3 has no screen (but you can purchase one here) but the app works as a screen on your phone so you can use the wi-fi and connect them and view what you're about to capture as well as viewing all of the photos you have taken with your GoPro on your phone. If you get the app that's for your computer you can edit your photos and even share them with the GoPro community if you'd like. The GoPro Hero 5 on the other hand, has a screen and voice recognition. It's pretty awesome I must say.Get your GoPro5 camera now!
